Beaverton Downtown Equity Strategy Business Gathering
VAN leads a multi-disciplinary team for the Beaverton Downtown Equity Strategy, helping to provide a framework for spending public resources in ways that make the area interesting, inviting, and accessible for all. We invite the business community to help guide the process and strategies by joining us to discuss your experiences as a business owner, share your vision of a thriving downtown, connect with other business owners, and take away some information to support your business. Those who participate will receive a $25 stipend.
We are centering Black, Indigenous, and People of Color, and other groups that are most marginalized in decision making to help guide the process and strategies for how the City spends public dollars. Over the next 10 years, the City will invest $100 million in downtown area improvements, and the goal is to prevent and minimize displacement of current residents and businesses; and to create a place where everyone feels like they belong.
